First crash
Posted: October 23, 2009 at 2:11 pmSince going car free about a year and a half ago, I’ve logged a lot of hours in the saddle. I’ve done my fair share of stupid things attempting various jumps and whatnot, and the entire time I’ve yet to crash… that is until last night.
Turning into my apartment parking lot last night, the “lip” of the driveway decided it was not going to let me turn in like I wanted. I’m sure the alight rain exacerbated the situation. I’ll chalk this one up to not being used to a road bike. Even with the high pressure slicks I ran on my old bike, going from MTB wheels to road wheels still makes a difference.
I’m missing a little skin, but nothing serious. And more importantly, the bike is fine. The right brake lever is a little rashed up, as is a bit of my Brooks saddle. Nothing huge though, and to be honest, I’m a bit proud of my first road rash from cycling.
