DIY Bike Repair Stand
Posted: November 18, 2009 at 8:40 amOver at The Petal Pusher there’s a good writeup on a DIY bike repair stand. At $30 in parts its a bargain over commercial versions. After all the work I’ve been doing recently, I really need a stand.
I’ve needed a repair stand for a long long long time now. But….damn those things aren’t cheap. Thankfully, I’ve got more than my share of blue collar blood in me….so I decided to build one.

This sounds like a nice weekend project for someone that is looking for a project, but with a new Park PCS-10 available for only $125 USD, it seems a bit like reinventing the wheel. If saving money were my motivation, I’d shop for a used stand on craigslist.
Good point. I rarely see that sorta thing on CL around here, but glancing through ebay you can certainly get some deals, the Park PCS-9 is $77, I also found an off brand one for $39.
The biggest issue for me is not cost, it’s convincing my wife we need something like that in our apartment, she’s already not too keen that we keep 3 bikes there already.
