The Million Car Challenge
Posted: December 3, 2009 at 8:45 amDecember 15th marks the beginning of The Million Car Challenge. This project aims to get stickers on one million cars with the goal of informing motorists that bikes are allowed to use the full lane and that they should change lanes to pass.
The site references the California Vehicle Code, but I thought it would be a good idea for everyone to check on their own laws regarding this. I live in Mississippi, and here is what our laws say about it:
As Amended
SEC. 63-3-207. Applicability of chapter to persons riding bicycles or animals or driving animal-drawn
vehicles.
Every person riding a bicycle or an animal or driving any animal drawing a vehicle upon a highway shall
have all of the rights and all of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle under this chapter, except
those provisions of this chapter which by their nature can have no application.

1, 1983.
You can find a summary of all Mississippi bicycle related laws here.
